WELCOME TO SWIM POD at ACTIVITIES AWAY We have been requested to support junior CLUB swimmers with meaningful aquatic activity whilst pools are closed. First up we want to say that our Lincolnshire swim clubs do a fantastic job for swimming and our young swim stars and we wish them all a safe and speedy return to the pool when it is safe to do so. So what is Swim Pod? SWIM POD is a SUPERVISED OPEN WATER SESSION it is NOT a replacement for coaching. Overseen on site here at Activities Away by Sophie Hart and Rebecca Hesketh who are both locally known life guards, our Swim Pod provides a 60 minute aquatic activity session to keep swim squad members engaged and active with their swimming. We know at Activities Away we can’t replace what you do – we don’t want to either but we do want to support you at this time in a safe and organised manner. We are grateful for the valuable assistance from Paul Fowler at 100% Swimming who has written some meaningful plans for our young swimmers to follow so we can all stay focussed. What will Swim Pod do for you? Each structured activity session will be guided by Sophie or Rebecca and last for 60 minutes. Sessions include acclimatisation, warm up, drill, kick sets, main set and cool down as well as a bunch of help and advice. There will ONLY be 5 PLACES in each session so we can comply with the ‘gathering’ of no more than 6 people for the purposes of exercise rule. The Swim Pod introductory price is £40 for one session per week for a five week block (5 swims). Once booked you are booked, no refunds or transfers possible - apologies for this but we need to build your Swim Pod and commitment and if we support you - you need to support us. The 5 sessions will cost £40 in total – so that’s £8 per session including swim entry, guidance and advice against the swim plans It is NOT possible to also book a 'normal' swim session on the same day, so if you book onto SWIM POD then please do not book another swim session for the same day or it will BE CANCELLED by our office team. ONE ADULT may accompany ONE CHILD to site but will need to remain on the patio area throughout the session and cannot spectate from lakeside. Spectators for this session only may purchase coffee/cake/pizza to eat on site while you wait or for takeaway at the end of the session. Kit required and provided by participants Swim kit including - pull buoy kick board Fins and wetsuit recommended but optional Changing Facilities As per our current COVID CODE our toilets will be open and must not be used for changing. Our changing rooms remain closed as per PUBLIC HEALTH ENGLAND advice and will not be open to SWIM POD participants. YOU MUST ARRIVE SWIM READY.
