BUYING THIS PRODUCT IS RESERVING YOU A PLACE ON THE NEXT COURSE STARTING AT 2 PM on SUNDAY 19th JANUARY 2020 in our LAKESIDE LOG CABIN.
This course has been designed by our experienced trainers and instructors and is especially useful for swimmers and 'inshore' users of craft such as sea kayaks, SUP's and sit on tops.
There is plenty of time for questions making the course relevant to your needs and ensures you leave with a good level of understanding.
We cover all the essentials of safety around the coastal environment, information on tidal heights & times and how to find this information easily, how to work out tidal stream direction & speed at any given time, information on RIP tides, how and where they form and how to 'escape' them or use them to your advantage, coastal weather & wind and how it can affect the water state and upset your plan on the day!
We talk about (and play with) charts, almanacs and tidal curves and give clear and easy to follow instructions on how to use them to descipher tidal information.
We cover information on safety equipment, the importance of having a plan and leaving a copy with someone ashore and how to raise the alarm if needed.
We make sure we suggest suitable apps, books and further reading and resources that are reliable and easy to use.
This well designed and user friendly course is delivered in the classroom by experienced trainers drawn from our own open water swimming safety and qualified coastal navigation instructors.
This course is delivered in our lakeside log cabin classroom and includes hot/cold refreshments at our centre in Lincoln, UK
